The Best Music Videos of 2001

26.12.2001

My favourite music videos of the year. I have now added the videos, rather than just a link.

Royksopp: Eple. Directed by Toxic.

Fatboy Slim: Weapon of Choice. Directed by Spike Jonze. Great dancing, a pure expression of joy.

Kylie Minogue: Can't get you out of my head. If only I had this kind of budget! That many dancers! Custom designed costumes! The set design.

Dirty Vegas: Days go by. Great old skool breaking. Great location. Update December 2010: Still love this video.

Bastian: You've got my love. Directed by Sandder. A simple concept.

Robbie Williams: Rock DJ. Even my mother likes this video.

Etienne de Crecy: Scratched. Great animation. Intriguing message.

Björk: Pagan Poetry. Directed by Nick Knight. Simply beautiful. Hidden Place directed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinood Matadin is also quite beautiful.

Depeche Mode: Dream On. Directed by Stephane Sednaoui. What do you expect? I love the Californian desert. One of my favourite Depeche Mode songs.

Bubbling under as they used to say on MTV: Galleon: So I begin. Simple concept, nice video, nice girl. Madonna: What it feels like for a girl. Great short film with a good soundtrack directed by ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Groove Armada: My friend. I know that feeling.
