The Best Albums of 2006

25.12.2006

My favourite albums of the past year. Not that many, but the ones listed here really stand out to me, and I expect to continue listening to them in the future. 45:33 was originally commissioned by Nike and it is indeed a great work-out album. The Arctic Monkeys and Burial provide the freshest sounds of the year. The Knife sounds familiar, but it sounds great. The (first) solo album by Thom Yorke received mixed reviews, but I really like it. The new album by Tool is really good, it's just that Lateralus is brilliant.

1. The Arctic Monkeys: Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
2. Burial: Burial
3. Thom Yorke: The Eraser
4. The Knife: Silent Shout
5. Tool: 10.000 days
6. LCD Soundsystem: 45:33
7. The Rifles: No Love Lost
8. Joanna Newsom: Ys
9. Kode 9 + the Spaceape: Memories of the future
