Stephen Doyle's Paper Cut Dollar Bills

27.06.2010

While browsing this weekend's New York Times Book Review my eyes were caught by these amazing illustrations, which accompany reviews of books on the financial crisis.

They're made out of dollar bills and were created by designer Stephen Doyle.

After a quick search I discovered some other astonishing paper sculptures he did based on Franz Kafka's The Trial and Machiavelli's The Discourses. I also love this excerpt from an interview: "I make these things as an escape from the world of problem-solving. I think of them more along the lines of problem-making."

They deserve a wider audience so I'm reproducing them here.
