Gerco de Ruijter: Baumschule

06.02.2011

I have written before about the work of Dutch photographer Gerco de Ruijter, who has developed his own unique strand of aerial photography. By attaching a camera to a kite or a helium balloon he is able to take photographs from a height of 20 to 100 meter. He recently completed a new series of photos called Baumschule, which consists of 32 photos of tree nurseries and grid forests in the Netherlands. The result is a totally amazing series of abstract landscapes.

The photos are currently on show at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in the Netherlands (until 10 April 2011).
