Daniel Yergin: The Prize. The Epic Quest for Oil, Money and Power
I know that I'm late to the party, but this is an excellent book and required reading if you want to understand 20th and 21st century history.
Highlights From The Spring Summer 2012 Ready To Wear Collections
Back in January 2009, when asked about the effects of the financial crisis and the impending recession, John Galliano, then still at the helm of Christian Dior, answered that "There's a credit crunch, not a creative crunch. Of course, everyone is being more careful with their discretionary purchases. I am. But it's our job to make people dream, and to provide the value in quality, cut, and imagination."
Unfortunately, there wasn't much to dream about this season. Comme des Garcons and Junya Watanabe are autonomous as ever and Haider Ackermann is still on a roll, but otherwise I had the impression everyone was playing it safe.
If you prefer watching a video Comme des Garcons, Haider Ackermann, Junya Watanabe.
