Pastry in Paris

An article in the Financial Times of April 5, 2008, Let them eat leopard-fur eclairs, profiles some Parisian patissiers who are pushing the boundaries of pastry. You may not be aware of the fact that the world of pastry has boundaries and that they can be pushed, but yes they can, and these patissiers are showing how. So next time you're in Paris pay a visit to Patisserie Pain de Sucre, the Delicabar, Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki or Pierre Herme and find out for yourself what I am talking about.

My favourite patissier is Christophe Michalak, pastry chef at Plaza Athenee in Paris. He really does miracles. His creations are a feast for the eye and absolutely delicious.
