2001
Royksopp: Eple conceived by London ad agency Mother and Oslo-based design company Toxic. Great concept.
Kylie Minogue: Can't get you out of my head. If only I had this kind of budget! That many dancers! Custom designed costumes! The set design.
Fatboy Slim: Weapon of Choice. Directed by Spike Jonze. Great dancing, a pure expression of joy.
Madonna: What it feels like for a girl. Great short film with a good soundtrack directed by husband Guy Ritchie.
Robbie Williams: Rock DJ. The kind of thing you can only do in a music video.
Etienne de Crecy: Scratched (QuickTime 27 Mb) great animation, intriguing message.
Galleon: So I begin. Simple concept, great video.
Bastian: You've got my love. Even simpler concept. Compare: Justice: D.A.N.C.E. (2007).
Depeche Mode: Dream On. What do you expect? I love the Californian desert. Directed by Stephane Sednaoui.
Groove Armada: My friend. I know that feeling.
Björk: Hidden Place was directed by Dutch photographer/stylists Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
Björk: Pagan Poetry directed by Nick Knight is also really beautiful.

In music, dance, theatre and cinema creating a beginning or an end is more difficult than composing the middle part, because, as in chess, the number of possibilities is limited. Just listen to the final seconds of a random selection of songs on your iPod.
