Jay Z: 99 Problems. Great track. Great video. Directed by Mark Romanek. On Mark Romanek's site, click on the image of the graffiti. What is it with hip-hop artists that they like to do videos in which they get shot?
PJ Harvey: The Letter. The kind of video I would have liked to have made myself.
Eurostar: Yé-Yé (QuickTime 20.7Mb). Interesting concept and editing. People perform "incongruent" actions which then form the transition to the next scene.
Robbie Williams: Radio. Directed by Vaughan Arnell. Nice tatoos. Nice bodies. Nice dancing.
Faithless: I want more. Shot in North-Korea. Some great mass dance scenes. Unfortunately synchronized masses require a strict regime, in ballet as well as in gymnastics.
Rex the dog: Prototype (QuickTime 46.5Mb) Another great video directed by Laurent Briet.
Zoot woman: Taken it all (QuickTime 21.7Mb) a stylish mix of animation and real action.
Steriogram: Walkie Talkie Man (QuickTime, 15,1 Mb) directed by Michel Gondry.
Agoria: Stereolove (QuickTime 4Mb) great animation video about traffic congestion.
Amon Tobin: Working Girl (QuickTime 11Mb). A girl different female role models. The movements are all mechanical. Towards the end it turns dark.

In music, dance, theatre and cinema creating a beginning or an end is more difficult than composing the middle part, because, as in chess, the number of possibilities is limited. Just listen to the final seconds of a random selection of songs on your iPod.
