Baker lies along Interstate 15 between Barstow and Las Vegas. Even more than Barstow it relies on drivers making a rest stop. It would be interesting to interview some of the people who work and live in Baker. How they ended up working in Baker, where they live and what their plans and dreams are. Baker is also home to the World's Tallest Thermometer to commemorate the fact that the highest recorded temperature in the US was recorded in nearby Death Valley. From Baker you can take CA 127 north to Death Valley. A few miles west of Baker lies Zzyxx road. On my next trip to Vegas (if I don't forget) I'll make a brief stop to make a photo.
