Barstow is a small town in the middle of the Mojave Desert at the intersection of several highways including Interstate 15 and 40. In terms of travelling time (not distance) it is somewhere halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. For that reason Barstow is a popular refueling stop. There are many gas stations, fast food restaurants and motels.
