Before you jump to any conclusions, you don't know from looking at this photo how old these girls are, how long they work per day, how much they earn etc. I was given a private tour of a ceramics workshop. I didn't take any photos inside, because without any further knowledge they would be easy to misinterpret and I didn't want to offend the owner either. The whole issue of child labour is much more subtle than can be summarized in a few lines. My parents owned a company and I used to help out when I was a child. I didn't always enjoy it, but it was a way to earn some extra money beyond my pocket money. I wasn't forced to work, in fact my parents would force me to do something else if I focused too much on earning money and they always asked if I had finished my homework. The money I earned enabled me to do and buy some nice things and working for it gave me a sense of achievement.
