Comments: The Ryoan-ji temple houses one of the most famous Japanese dry gardens. It is rather touristic though. You are surrounded by people like me and the constant snapping of cameras. If you're looking for a "real" temple experience I recommend going to one of the lesser known temples, where you can suddenly find yourself in the middle of some strange ritual.
