Lai Chi Wo is an abandoned village in the North East Territories of Hong Kong, in the Plover Cove Country Park to be precise. Because it is surrounded by islands which protect it from the winds from the South China sea, the climate is subtropical. After walking for less than half a mile I was already sweating all over. In the area you can find mangroves and all kinds of other exotic plants and trees, which of course made my heart beat faster. As of this writing new facilities are being built. Their main purpose may be to accomodate tourists visiting the area.
