Yung Shue Wan, Lamma island

Comments: Lamma Island is only a half hour ferry ride from Hong Kong Central. It's a bit of a weird place because of the power station. It feels very relaxed and the main town, Yung Shue Wan has a nice bohemian atmosphere. There appear to live quite a few expats on Lamma Island and some people commute to Central on a daily basis. There are no cars on Lamma Island, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. There's a path which leads from Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan, from where you can take the ferry back to Central again. There are some nice beaches on Lamma Island and some good restaurants, making it a perfect destination for a short day trip to escape the hustle and bustle of Kowloon or Hong Kong Island.
