Comments: If you drive along South La Cienega Blvd at some point you pass by the Inglewood Oild Field, which is still operational, although it is being dismantled as the field is being drained. It reminded me of my childhood. A stone's throw from where I grew up there used to be some pumping units, which as a child I thought were really cool. It didn't occur to me then that drilling for oil in the middle of a city was a bit odd and perhaps dangerous. The odd thing is that everybody in the neighbourhood thought it was so normal that my parents have very few photos of the drills and the grasshoppers.
