While searching for some compositions mentioned in Alex Ross' "[The Rest Is Noise](https://www.ivarhagendoorn.com/blog/2018/11/24/alex-ross-the-rest-is-noise/)" I came across this excellent performance of György Ligeti's "Mysteries of the Macabre" by the formidable Barbara Hannigan and the Gothenborg Symphony Orchestra. 

"Mysteries of the Macabre" is a rare example of classical music that is both funny and interesting. The only other examples that I can think of are by Frank Zappa.
