Autumn 2011 I made a road trip through Andalusia. I had a wonderful time, despite catching a cold on the second day of the trip. Beautiful villages, a beautiful landscape, nice weather, great food, interesting architecture, what more could you wish for? Included here are some of my favourite photos. Note that Córdoba and Granada have separate galleries.

Vejer de la Frontera is one of the most beautiful of the pueblos blancos (white villages) in Andalusia

Alájar is a small, idyllic town in the Sierra de Aracena

The Rio Tinto Mines are the oldest of their kind in the world. The mines that are still in operation are quite photogenic as well.

I enjoyed driving through Andalusia

Needless to say I was delighted to finally visit the Real Alcazar in Sevilla

The villages of Capileira, Bubión and Pampaneira in Las Alpujarras are of Moorish origin. They have narrow, winding streets, flat roofs and characteristic chimney-pots. I liked the fact that the streets have a canal for rain and melt water.

Jerez de la Frontera is an easily overlooked town in Andalusia, but it's quite nice. The Alcazar and the cathedral are worth visiting.
