Barstow

Barstow, California is a major transportation hub at the junction of the Interstate 15, the Interstate 40 and Route 66. Barstow is about half way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. On my third trip from LA to Las Vegas (and beyond) I decided to spend an hour or two (which became three) in Barstow to explore the city's gritty edges.

The Union Pacific Railroad passes through Barstow. I spent 10 minutes or so watching a seemingly endless train drive by.
