# Las Vegas Boneyard

The Las Vegas Boneyard, aka the Neon Boneyard, is home to more than 200 unrestored neon signs from the golden age of Las Vegas casinos. Many of the signs were produced by the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO). For years the company stored disused neon signs at a storage yard on the outskirts of Las Vegas. In 1996 the Las Vegas Neon Museum was founded to preserve this part of Las Vegas history. I visited the Las Vegas Boneyard spring 2007 when admission was still on a prior-appointment basis. I had the entire site to myself for two hours, but it was so excruciatingly hot, with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (108 F), that after an hour and a half I called it a day. During that time I did manage to take some awesome photographs that I cherish to this day.
