Palm Springs in southern California is best known as a desert resort city noted for its stylish hotels and vintage boutiques and as the birthplace of desert modernism. These photos show a different side of Palm Springs. North of Palm Springs, off Interstate 10, are a number of wind farms.

This is probably not what comes to mind when you think of Palm Springs, well, it's not Palm Springs proper, but just off the freeway exit to Palm Springs
