Rondane National Park

Rondane National Park is the oldest national park in Norway and covers an area of approximately 1,000 square km. The landscape looks flat but Rondane actually lies at an elevation of 1,000 meter with the highest peak at an altitude of 2,178 meter. It was extremely windy the morning I hiked to the Peer Gynt cabin, but at least it was dry. In the afternoon I also hiked to the Rondvassbu lodge at the south end of Rondevatnet lake. While I enjoyed seeing the large plateaus I prefer the more rugged landscape of Jotunheimen.

The hike to the Peer Gynt Hytta is almost flat, relatively short, offers nice views and as bonus there's a canyon at the end.
On the way to Rondevatnet. I wish I had a mountain bike. The landscape didn't change much and the road was nearly flat so I could have covered quite a bit of ground if I'd had a bike with me.
