When I found out that the above clip is an excerpt from "The Trip", a six episode BBC television series directed by Michael Winterbottom, I had to watch the entire series. The series stars Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as fictionalised versions of their perceived personalities and follows them on a restaurant tour of northern England. They spend their time bickering and trying to outwit each other and doing impersonations of famous movie stars. On paper this may not sound like a winning premise for a television series, but in fact the entire series is really funny. Towards the end it also acquires a melancholic undertone. Some scenes, like the Michael Caine scene above, are instant classics. The landscape and the food also looks quite appealing.

The television series has been re-edited into a movie but I recommend watching the full series.
