As of today I am one of the lucky owners of a copy of The Floating World (Ukiyo-e) by graphic designer John Warwicker. I'd been looking for it for years, in shops and on-line, so when I finally saw it for sale (again?) at Amazon France I instantly ordered a copy.
It is an amazing and beautifully crafted book. It is not just an exploration of graphic design and typography: it is an actual book. So far I've only "looked" at every page while reading some of Warwicker's thoughts and reflections. It must have been a pleasure to design this book and a pain to get everything exactly right.
The Floating World belongs on the shelf of anyone who loves book design and typography. So if you can get hold of a copy, buy it while stock lasts.
