I still make time to listen to new music and December is always a good time to catch up with what's been happening in the past year. So some of these recordings I only just discovered after browsing some other best of the year lists. I know that the combination of Hans Abrahamsen and Swans might raise some eyebrows, since they represent two extremes of the musical spectrum, but that's why I like them.

Hans Abrahamsen: Let Me Tell You
Richard Barrett: Music for Cello and Electronics
Radiohead: A Moon Shaped Pool
Swans: The Glowing Man
Jack DeJohnette/Ravi Coltrane/Matthew Garrision: In Movement
Young Magic: Still Life
Alsarah & The Nubatones: Manara
Keith Jarrett: A Multitude of Angels
