The journey by boat from Ilulissat to the Eqi Glacier is nothing short of spectacular. It takes about three and a half hours and along the way there are hundreds of icebergs one more beautiful than the other. On both the outbound and the inbound journey we saw some whales. I even saw a jumping whale, but it happened too quickly to capture on camera.

The captain spotted some whales so we hung around for a while. I was told that if you spot a tail, the whale is taking a deep dive and will be under water for the next 10-15 minutes. So we continued our journey shortly after I took this photograph.

As we approached the Eqi Glacier the sky began to clear casting the icebergs in a beautiful light. The glacier and the ice sheet creates its own micro climate and I was told that the sky is usually clear above the glacier.

The following day, when we left the Glacier Lodge Eqi, the sky had cleared. Overnight some large icebergs must have drifted from another nearby glacier, because I did not capture them the previous day.

More amazing reflections. Pro-tip: stand at the front of the boat otherwise the waves will destroy the reflection.
