On my first trip to Japan I'd planned a day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto. As I soon discovered spending a day in Kyoto was way too short. So on my second trip to Japan I scheduled three days for Kyoto, which again was too short.

I find those narrow streets and alleys in Japan highly photogenic. To navigate those narrow streets even the cars are small.

The photos in the gallery above were taken along the hike from Takao to Hozukyo, which is actually quite a nice hike. The hills surrounding Kyoto are really beautiful.
