I first visited New York in the late 90s, which of course was a childhood dream come true. I still remember how thrilled I was when I got out of the bus, which took me from Newark International Airport to Manhattan. Finally I set foot in New York! I have been back many times since, but I still get excited whenever I'm in Manhattan. The photos included here were all taken in 2013 when I revisited many of the places I'd visited on previous occasions with my newly acquired Canon 5D Mark III. As you can see I was very lucky with the weather when I visited the Empire State Building, since a rain shower had washed the dust particles from the air.

On a clear day the views from the observation deck at the Empire State Building are nothing short of stunning. Even though I've been there several times, each time with a better camera, I'd love to go back one day now that I have an even better camera and lens.

Rooseveldt Island is another one of my favorite spots in New York. The views of Midtown Manhattan are amazing. I like to take the cable car: It's a fun ride and it offers great views as it departs from Manhattan. You do have to be quick when taking photos.

Across Manhattan you can find these stacked mechanical parking lots. I stopped to watch a car being moved to its designated spot. I do wonder how long it takes to retrieve your car.

The views of Lower Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge Park are just awesome. It's a perfect lunch spot on a beautiful day like this.
