Upon seeing a photo of the Oeschinensee in Wanderlust Europe I put it on top of my list for my next trip to Switzerland. The Oeschsinensee is indeed one of the most idyllic sites in Switzerland and the hike to the Blüemlisalphütte is awesome. I had a late start and I didn’t want to miss the last cable car back to Kandersteg so I didn’t go all the way to the Blüemlisalphütte. I had originally planned to do this hike the next day, but because of the weather forecast I had to bring it forward by one day. I’m glad I did, because the weather was perfect and the next day was cloudy and rainy. However, it did mean I had to get up at 6am in order to be in Kandersteg at 9:30. And then I still had to drop off my luggage at my hotel and get to the cable car station. But it was all worth it, as you can see. What's more, I now have a reason to go back one day.
