I visited Venice in September 2005 on the occasion of the Venice Biennale. At the time Venice was already crowded and I was lucky to still find some quiet areas. I even had the Peggy Guggenheim Museum almost to myself. In the years since Venice has been completely overrun by tourists. The thing is, Venice really IS beautiful and I have been thinking of going back for years. In 2024 I finally did, again on the occasion of the Biennale. I didn't schedule any time to walk around town to take some photos, which I now regret. Next time.
