I first visited Yosemite National Park in 2001. In 2014 I finally had a chance to visit the park again and take the photos I'd wanted to make on my first visit. I'm a way better hiker now than I was in 2001 and the Mist Trail, which had me puffing and panting in 2001, now felt like a walk in the park. Within no time I was up at Nevada Fall. Half Dome is in another category though. Maybe one day if I manage to obtain lodging in Yosemite Valley.

Liberty Cap and Nevada Fall, in front, and Half Dome, in the distance, as seen from the John Muir trail. Note that at 2,695 m (8,844 ft) Half Dome is in fact higher than Liberty Cap (2,158 m or 7,080 ft).

This photo was taken near Olmsted Point, off Tioga Road in Yosemite National Park. Amazingly these rocks were left by the glaciers that formed Yosemite Valley during the last ice age.
