I had originally planned to read One Hundred Years of Solitude at my 100th or 80th birthday, but since I'm currently reading up on my classics I thought: Why wait? Why not read it now? Having read most of his other novels, novellas and short story collections, this, his most famous book, was the one novel by Garcia Márquez I still had to read. I've got little to say about it other than that I enjoyed reading it and that it has enriched my life. The history of Macondo and the life and times of the Buendias are now part of my life. Already I found myself wondering whether some of the things that I remember actually happened , happened in my dreams, happened to a friend or happened to one of the characters in One Hundred Years of Solitude.
