I had the great fortune of visiting the Casa da Musica by OMA|Rem Koolhaas on a guided tour before the official opening, when the building was still largely empty. A few years later I was invited to give a lecture at a conference that was being held at the Casa da Musica. By that time a number of houses neighbouring the Casa da Musica had been demolished to make way for a large building, blocking the view from one of the windows overlooking the city.
