I first visited Porto in 2005. When I read that for a few weeks only there would be guided tours of the still empty Casa da Musica before the official opening, I jumped on the occasion. Unfortunately, there were severe wildfires in the area surrounding Porto and I ended up with a throat ache and a slight fever. Even so, I had a great time. So when, a few years later, I was invited to give a lecture at a conference at the Casa da Musica I immediately said yes. I also enjoyed visiting the Serralves Museum by Alvaro Siza.
