The hike from Corvatsch Mittelstation Murtèl across Fuorcla Surlej to Pontresina is one of the top hikes in St Moritz. As you can tell from the photos it was a perfect day. Since this was my first day in the mountains I forgot to apply sunscreen to all exposed skin, and not for the first time. I didn't go all the way to the Chamanna Coaz. I had a late start, because I first took the gondola to the Corvatsch Bergstation. From Hotel Roseg it is still a good hour and fifteen minutes to Pontresina. Unfortunately, I found out too late that you can rent a mountain bike at Hotel Roseg. There are no signs at the hotel and it didn't occur to me to inquire. So that is two lessons learned.
