Delhi is dirty and congested, the air pollution is among the worst in the world, the poverty is depressing and yet I had a great time taking photos across Delhi. I was moved by the enthusiasm I met with in the streets of Old Delhi. Wherever you go in India people like to have their photo taken. The back alleys of Old Delhi in particular were a lot of fun. These photos were all taken in 2007. A lot may have changed since then, for better and for worse.

A back alley and shop fronts in Old Delhi

I'm curious about the length of the supply chain

Shop fronts, Old Delhi

The street south of Old Delhi's Jami Mashid is lined up with auto parts and accessories stores. But try getting there with a car.

Left and Middle: These guys wanted to pose for a photo. I obliged and it turned out quite well.

Street scene, Delhi

A goat and an ex-goat. I liked the fact that the goats were decorated.
