The hike from Schynige Platte via the peak of the Faulhorn to First is one of the classic hikes in the Swiss Alps. It offers amazing views of the Eiger, the Jungfrau and the Mönch on one side and of the Brienzersee (Lake Brienz) on the other. The historic train from Wilderswild to Schynige Platte is also quite fun.

I couldn't choose between the photo above and below. This was an interesting spot along the trail. I stopped to make many more photos.

The views from the top of the Faulhorn are stunning. Once again I couldn't pick a winner.

The beautiful lake Bachalpsee. It is, of course, also possible to take the cable car from Grindelwald to First and just hike to Bachalpsee.

You wouldn't know from this photo, but this is at an elevation of 2200m and between these green meadows and the mountains in the distance lies the Grindelwald valley at an elevation of 1000m.
