The hike from Engelberg via Surenenpass to Attinghausen is considered one of the most impressive of central Switzerland. I started at Fürenalp. From there I hiked to the Surenenpass. I didn't continue all the way to Attinghausen though, but took the same way back. For one thing, there was still a lot of snow on the other side of the Surenenpass. Instead or returning to Fürenalp I descended via Stäuber and Stäfeli to the valley station Engelberg/Fürenalp. On my way back I made a brief stop at one of the farms for some delicious cheese and soup. The area around Engelberg is famous for its cheese and there is even a hike which takes you past a number of farms.

An alpine meadow. No wonder the cheese tastes good. The fields are covered with all kinds of flowers.
If the mountain peaks are covered in clouds then, of course, if you keep climbing at some point you will end up in the clouds.
To the right one of the farms where you can buy and eat cheese and other refreshments
I made it to the pass but it was very cloudy and foggy
Looking back. In the afternoon the mountains were almost entirely covered in clouds. Compare the photo above which I made on my way up.
