Autumn 2012 I made a short road trip through Tuscany and Umbria. I visited all the obvious places, the Val d'Orcia, Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, one not so obvious place, the Carrara Marble Quarry and of course, the most obvious place, Florence.

Tuscany is, of course, known both for its wine and olive oil

I climbed one of the towers in San Gimignano
