Yucca Valley, California is located in the Mojave Desert not far from Palm Springs. It is bordered to the west by the San Bernardino Mountains and to the south by the Joshua Tree National Park. I had originally planned to spend the day in Joshua Tree National Park, but at the last minute I decided to spend the morning in Palm Springs and the afternoon in the area around Yucca Valley.

How long does it take for cans to decompose? I guess the answer is more likely to be in the hundreds of thousands of years than in thousands of years.
