The Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps with a length of about 23km and an estimated 25 billion tons of ice. The Aletsch Glacier is melting fast though, so by the time you read this it may have shrunk considerably. I spent two days in the area. Upon arrival I hiked from Moosfluh to Riederalp. The second day I took the cable car to Eggishorn and then hiked to Fiescheralp via Lake Marjelensee. One day I plan to cross the glacier from Jungfraujoch to Marjelensee.
