The weather forecast had been good, but unfortunately the Breithorn was shrouded in clouds during my ascent to the top. During the descent clouds kept rolling in. One moment it looked like it was clearing and the next moment we were surrounded by fog again. It was not what I been hoping for, but I did make it to the top. I was able to make some nice atmospheric photos from the viewing platform at Klein Matterhorn. From Trockener Steg I hiked to the Gandegghütte, which offers amazing views of the Breithorn and the Theodul glacier.

This was on the way down. But clouds kept rolling in.

Late in the afternoon it finally cleared. I was so consumed by the scenery that I almost missed the last cable car down to Zermatt.
