Whenever I'm on a road trip I face the same dilemma: head straight for my next destination or stop to make some photos and risk arriving late. The solution, of course, is to schedule more time for traveling. But before you know it a two week trip becomes a month long journey.

Somewhere along the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu

Update: Sadly, several buildings along this stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway were lost during the January 2025 Palisades Fire.

At some point these houses will collapse into the ocean
Malibu. These houses too won't last because of ongoing erosion.
