On a glorious day in July I hiked to the top of Møysalen (1262m), the highest peak in Vesterålen. It is a magnificent hike and one of the best day hikes in Norway. Indeed, it is definitely in the top 10 of the best hikes I’ve done so far.
Vesterålen has it all: amazing scenery, majestic mountains, deep fjords and beautiful beaches. There is one thing Vesterålen does not have: tour buses full of tourists.
Lofoten has long been a destination on my bucket list, and now that I've had the chance to visit, I can't stop thinking about returning someday. There's truly no place like it.
The hike to the Munkebu Hut is one of the top hikes in Lofoten. Unfortunately I didn't have time to make a push for Hermannsdalstinden. Even so it was one of the highlights of my trip.
Reine is one of the most picturesque villages in Lofoten. The hike to the top of Reinebringen is one of the most popular hikes in Lofoten. It is so for a reason: The iconic views from the top are amazing.
The trail to the Schönbiel Hut offers breathtaking views of the north face of the Matterhorn, the Dent d’Hérens, the Zmutt and the Stockji glacier and more along the way.
The Glacier Trail Saas-Fee from Fellskin to Mattmark via the Britanniahütte, crossing the Hohlaubgletscher and the Alallingletscher, is one of the best day hikes in the Swiss Alps and one of my favourite day hikes.
