I enjoyed walking around the gritty old centre of Valencia. I wish I'd stayed overnight instead of making a day trip from Barcelona.

A rich and fascinating exhibition. As Vincent van Gogh wrote in a letter to his brother: "It is difficult to know yourself, but it isn't easy to paint yourself either".

Casa da Musica
I had the great fortune of visiting the Casa da Musica by OMA|Rem Koolhaas on a guided tour before the official opening, when the building was still largely empty.
Serralves Museum
The Serralves Museum designed by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza is a beautiful building that fits quite wonderfully within the surrounding landscape.
