The Kindred EP by Burial is probably the album that I played most often this year. The Japanese CD also contains the Street Halo EP. Fin by John Talabot is another album that I listened to a lot.
I only discovered his work some two years ago but Jonathan Harvey has since become one of my favourite composers.
Portrait of Philip Glass in the Village Voice on his 75th birthday. Turns out he drove a cab till he was 41.
The Black Keys, Kurt Vile, Nicolas Jaar, PJ Harvey. These are the stand-out albums of the year as far as I'm concerned.
2010 was another good year for music, but perhaps, as in the past four years, this reflects the fact that I sampled more albums.
The XX and Fever Ray are the stand-out albums of the year. 2009 was also the year that I discovered Sunn O))).
Viktoria Mullova's new recording of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin is breathtaking.
These are the albums that I play(ed) most often and rated highly.
An excellent year in music. Burial: Untrue is a classic, as far as I'm concerned.
An excellent year in music with some great debut albums.
And the song of the year is Losing My Edge by LCD Soundsystem.
